Gyapjúfonalas textilek / Wool yarn textiles

A 19. század utolsó évtizedeiben a korábbi szabályos mintaszerkesztés helyett egy sokkal szabadabb hímzőstílus válik elfogadottá a lepedővégeken a matyó rózsa és a tulipán számtalan változata, valamint a kiegészítő leveles ágak és kisebb virágok szabadon töltik ki a teret. A korábban használt piros-kék pamutfonal mellett a tarka gyapjúfonalak és az élénk színű selyemhímzés is jellegzetes díszítési mód. Nagy kedvenceim a gyapjúfonalas minták, több mintaváltozatban is elkészítettem már ezeket. A gyapjúfonalak visszafogott színekkel és tömött, plasztikus motívumokkal díszítik ezeket a ma is használható textileket: függönyt, díszpárnát, asztalterítőt.

In the last decades of the 19th century, a much freer style of embroidery was adopted on sheet ends, instead of regular patterning, with myriad variations of the Matyó rose and tulip, and additional leafy branches and smaller flowers used freely. In addition to the red and blue cotton threads used in the past, colourful wool threads and brightly coloured silk embroidery are also typical decorative motifs. I am very fond of woollen yarn patterns and have made several samples of them. Wool yarns with subdued colours and thick, plastic motifs decorate these textiles, which can still be used today: curtains, throw pillows, tablecloths.
