Gránátalmás minta / Pomegranate pattern

Sokáig csak leírásokból, rajzokból tudtam létezésükről, hiszen a textilek sérülékenysége miatt csupán 1-2 darab maradt fenn ezekből a közel 200 éves fejviseletekből az ország 1-1 múzeumában. Engem magával ragadott a motívumok különlegessége, a mintaszerkesztés eleganciája, az öltések gazdagsága. Többféle feldolgozást is készítettem, piros-kékkel a „paraszti”, fehér-arannyal az ünnepi, élénk színek használatával a magával ragadó, vidám változatot.

The pattern of the Mezőkövesd bonnets make up a special part of my work. For long, I only knew of their existence from descriptions and drawings, as due to the fragility of the textiles only 1 or 2 pieces of the nearly 200-year-old headpieces survived in museums in the country. I was captivated by the unique motifs, the elegant patterning and rich stitches. I made several versions, red and blue for the "peasant", white and orange for the festive, and bright colours for a captivating, cheerful version.
